What exactly is Fertility Foundations?

Fertility Foundations is an online education programme covering everything I wish I'd known before navigating my own fertility journey. It's structured around 4 foundational pillars and 14 comprehensive modules, covering your biology, NHS investigations, nutrition and lifestyle factors, fertility tracking, and how to navigate both NHS and private treatment options. It's entirely UK-specific, referencing NICE guidelines, ICB funding pathways, and the actual realities of our healthcare system.

How is this different from other fertility courses?

Accepted Answer

Most fertility programmes are either led by wellness coaches (no medical training) or focus heavily on "natural" approaches that ignore medical realities. This is the only UK fertility programme created by a doctor who's navigated PCOS, endometriosis, and IVF herself—combining clinical expertise with lived experience of the NHS system.
It's evidence-based, UK-specific, and doesn't promise outcomes. It teaches you how to understand and advocate for yourself.

How is this different from Googling?

Question 4

I'm just starting to think about trying to conceive. Is this too advanced?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. If you've recently come off contraception, understanding your cycle and what the NHS expects before referral will save you months of frustration. Module 2 (Understanding Your Cycle), Module 9 (Non-Digital Tracking), plus the modules on supplementation (5), nutrition (6), sleep and stress (7), and gut health (8) are all relevant for optimising your body before you even start trying.

Will this help me get pregnant faster?

I can't promise that, and I won't. This isn't a "get pregnant in 90 days" programme.
What I can tell you is that understanding your biology, optimising the factors within your control, and knowing how to advocate for yourself in the NHS system puts you in a far stronger position than Googling symptoms at 2am.
After my daughter was born via IVF in July 2022, I conceived naturally seven months later on our second attempt. I still had PCOS & endometriosis, I understood how to work with my body- optomising it through the evidence based supplements, right type of exercise and ensuring my micronutrients were optimal.

Question 6

My partner thinks we should "just relax and see what happens." Will this help?

Yes. Male fertility is woven throughout the programme; not isolated in one module, but integrated into understanding biology, investigations, lifestyle factors, and treatment options. Understanding the data together often helps partners realise why waiting isn't always the answer.

I've been trying for over a year and already seen a GP. Will I learn anything new?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most GPs have 10 minutes to discuss fertility. This programme fills the gap between what doctors have time to explain and what you actually need to know—which blood tests to push for, how to interpret results, what private clinics won't tell you upfront, and how to navigate the system.
Unfortunately (as I learnt the hard way), NHS and NICE guidelines are outdated in some places. They're based on cost-effectiveness, not cutting-edge research. It takes roughly 10 years for research to make it into clinical practice—and if you're trying for a baby, you may not be able to afford to wait 10 years.

I’m not planning IVF: Is it still relevant?

Absolutely. There is one detailed module on IVF but the rest of the modules focus on biology, health, lifestyle; useful whether you conceive naturally or through treatment.

Question 9

What's the difference between the Audio Only and Full Programme?

Accepted Answer

The Audio Only option gives you almost 10 hours of audio content delivered via a private podcast feed, 14 episodes covering all 4 pillars. Perfect if you prefer learning whilst commuting, walking, or during those middle-of-the-night anxiety spirals.

The Full Programme is the comprehensive learning experience. For each of the 14 modules, you get:
 • 10-40 minute teaching videos (that's 14 separate videos, not just audio with slides)
 • Full audio version of each module
 • Written content on dedicated module pages with references and visuals
 • Practical tools specific to that module (symptom trackers, questions to ask your GP, cycle tracking templates, supplement protocols, NHS funding checklists, IVF decision frameworks)

Think of Audio Only as learning on-the-go, and Full Programme as having the complete toolkit to apply what you're learning.
Both options give you lifetime access with no subscription fees.

Is this personal medical advice?

Accepted Answer

No. This is education, not medical advice. I'm teaching you what to ask, what to look for, and how to interpret information, but you should always consult your GP or fertility specialist for personalised guidance.
Think of this as preparation for those appointments, not a replacement for them.

Question 11

How long does it take to complete?

Accepted Answer

There's no timeline. This isn't a course you "complete"; it's a resource you use as needed. You might start with Pillar 2 if you're preparing for NHS investigations, or jump to Pillar 4 if you're exploring IVF options. There's also a quiz that can help you navigate which order may be best for you. 
That said, due to the depth and breadth of information in each module, I'd recommend tackling no more than 2 modules per week at maximum (around 7-8 weeks in total), just so you don't face information overload. However, only you know what works best for you!

Do you offer one-to-one consultations?

Unfortunately not due to time constraints. If you need personalised medical guidance, you should see your GP or a fertility specialist.
What I do offer is education that helps you understand what questions to ask and how to advocate for yourself in those appointments.

Question 13

Can my partner access the programme too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your login is for single household use, which means you can share access with your partner. However, the login shouldn't be shared outside your household (friends, family members in different homes, etc.).
Male fertility is integrated throughout the programme, so it's designed to be relevant for both of you.
